A GROUP OF PROP SHIELDS FROM MGM STUDIOS:Metro-Goldwin-Mayer, circa 1950's. A group of three painted metal aspides-style shields from "Ben-Hur" and "Quo Vadis". All three with polychrome painted designs to front and a cloth or leather arm strap to back. One shield with painted detail to back, depicting horse head and bust in white paint. Dia. of each 20 1/4". All three shields with loss to paint on exterior. The metal knobbed central medallion on one shield is bent and misshapen, with loss to the painted design. There are various area of grime deposits and rust throughout
