A METAL AND ENAMEL PIANO-FORM ETUI, H 3 1/2", W 3 3/4", L 7 5/8":A gilt metal and enamel piano-formed etui. The exterior decorated with scenes of a figural group in a pastoral setting, surrounded by painted foliate designs, all in the Rococo taste. The fall board opening to reveal painted piano keys and two inkwells with glass inserts, the lid opening to reveal a white enameled interior. Height 3 1/2", length 7 5/8", width 3 3/4".

With wear to enamel throughout, especially in the form of scratching and rubbing. Metal frame has been misshapen and bent in some areas, and is rusting throughout (MK).   The etui has overall restoration and is detached from the metal base. RB 1-5-17
