A PAIR OF JAPANESE BRONZE VASES, 19TH.C., H 13 1/2", DIA 8":Possibly Meji period. Of lobed bottle form, having a trumpet form neck, with applied high relief decoration of two wrens. Marked to underside.
With some tarnish throughout and loss to patina in various areas. Vases also show general wear consummate with age and use. (MK). One vase has a 1" dent at the bulbous part of the body. From this dent, forms a protrusion at the flat part of the body. In the center of this protrusion, the bronze has a crack. If you look at the first photo, on the 1st vase, to the left of the bird you can see the protrusion. TW 3-29-17
