A PAIR OF PROPS FROM "BEN-HUR":Metro-Goldwin-Mayer, 1959. A rectangular painted shield with a Classical design and cloth straps to back, together with a prop sword and scabbard made of wood with metal and painted details. Shield: 31 1/2" x 22 1/4", sword with scabbard: 33 1/2". Provenance: David Weisz Co., MGM Auction and Tag Sale, 1970. Rectangular shield accompanied by original receipt.

Condition

The shield showing significant loss of paint throughout. Shield also shows wear in the form of dents, nicks, scratches, and areas of rust throughout. The sword and scabbard having areas of loss to paint, especially gilt paint around handle. Shows wear in the form of dents, nicks, and scratches (MK).
