John Robert McDougall was the son of George and Marie-Francois McDougall. John and his brother, George, inherited Belle Isle (Detroit) from their parents and subsequently sold Belle Isle to William Macomb. As is condition. (Under UV light: minimal overpainting; tear and loss at the point where his coat meets his shirt in the front; losses in the face; some edge losses; needs a cleaning.)
