Wonderfully detailed bronze sculpture of an eighteenth-century court musician playing the mandolin. Signed on the base. Foundry mark at the lower edge of base "Susse F. Paris". One of the medallions on the base reads "Pavane", a stately dance popular in the 16th and 17th centuries.
