ANTIQUE, STEIFF, TEDDY BEAR, CIRCA 1910 TO 1920, H APPROX. 21":Steiff Teddy Bear with honey colored mohair fur, disc jointed legs, arms, and head. The bear has felt pads, glass eyes, brown threaded nose, hump at back, and excelsior stuffing. This bear was given to the consignor 50 years ago, from the consignors elderly friend who had received it as a child.

Condition

The bear has much wear from age and use. The "Steiff" button ear tag is missing There is wear to the fur around the ears and nose, and just below the right ear there is a 1" area where the fur has thinned out and you can see the stuffing. One eye has old glue residue on it, possibly an old repair. There are tears in the fur at the upper arms, and the edges of the discs are showing. The felt paw on the left arm is very tattered and the excelsior stuffing is noticeable and showing. The felt pad on the other paw has a 1/2" tear. The felt pad on one foot has a small hole approx. 1/8" dia. The black threads on the feet are missing. There are some old sewing repairs along the back seam of the bears torso and along the top areas of both legs near the discs.
