A 1983 bronze sculpture titled "Too Late For The Hawken" by Bob Scriver. Artist's signature, edition number (46/50) and date to the base in mold. Scene depicts a trapper trying to fend off an Indian on horseback. Hawken refers to a muzzle loaded rifle popular with fur trappers and buffalo hunters in the mid 19th c.. Presented on an oak base. Includes a black platform. Provenance: From the lakeside estate of a prominent Saint Clair Shores, MI industrialist.
