Engraved sheath reads "Deputy Sheriff Charley Webb Comanche, Texas 1873". Believed to have been owned by former Texas Ranger and deputy sheriff Charles Webb of Brown County, Texas. Webb was shot and killed by "noted desperado" John Wesley Hardin in Comanche, Texas, in May of 1874. The mounting of the knife is marked "Sterling" at the ricasso. Having a bone handle with a blade marked "Sheriff Knife". The sheath is leather with a silver throat and tip. The belt loop is marked Sterling with crossed arrows and star markings.
