BRONZE SATYR WITH WINESKIN, LATE 19TH C., H 9 1/2", W 3 1/2", L 6 3/4":Late 19th century. A bronze reproduction after the original sculpture from the House of the Centenary, Pompeii. Depicting a satyr pouring wine, mounted on a rectangular marble base. Sculpture shows oxidation, verdigris, and surface wear consistent with age and use. The condition and appearance of the underside suggest that a piece may be missing. Please note, the satyr is missing his wine cup.
