CARVED ALABASTER BUST AND PEDESTAL, 2 PIECES, H 9", W 4 1/2":A carved bust of Dante wearing a leafy Roman crown, atop a flared pedestal base. From The George and Penny Simon Collection, Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan.
The base has a 1/2" chip at the bottom. The bust is loose from the base. There are what appear to be very fine ink pen marks around the left eye and mouth as if somebody drew on the face.
