Having works by JJ Elliot, London. Moon phase dial with second hand dial. Two weights, and pendulum. Works impressed "J.J. Ellliot 12&23 Rosebery Avenue, London". Works also impressed "H H" referring to “Harris and Harrington” (Elliot's agents to the trade). Interior having a presentation plaque which reads: "Presented to R. Crosby Fairlamb Feb. 29th 1904, by Robt. J. Wright, Thos. C. Sloan, Jos. P. Hughes, Jos. H. Hines, William Gibbons. While the works are English, the case appears to have been carved in America. Bonnet surmounted by a broken arch pediment and three urn form finials. Glass pendulum door having relief carved shell accents and flanked by quarter round capitals. Carved mahogany shell corner accents and center large shell accent base panel. The original Elliott company was formed by J.J. Elliott in 1886. In 1909 the company merged with Grimshaw & Baxter. Case is similar to examples manufactured by RJ Horner, NY.
