A pair of chairs from the Kleinhans Music Hall, Buffalo.  Leather over molded plywood, birch, brass.  This is the earliest known collaboration between Charles Eames and Eero Saarinen. It was done at the request of Eliel Saarinen soon after he finished designing Cranbrook.  The Kleinhans chairs were the first instance of Eames using bent wood in one of his productions. Provenance:  From the Private Collection of a former Cranbrook Educator and Prominent Collector, Bloomfield Hills, MI.

The chairs have been expertly reupholstered. | Please note all lots show signs of wear commensurate with age and use, and the lack of a statement regarding condition does not imply the lot is in perfect condition or completely free from defects or the effects of aging.
