Signed and dated in the lower left. Depicting Pueblo homes with two children, chickens and a horse. Matted and framed under glass, H 17.75", W 21.75". Titled on the verso "Old houses at Hano - Tusyan Arizona". In 1895 Charles Browne, along with sculptor Hermon MacNeil and writer Hamlin Garland, toured reservations in Arizona and New Mexico. They visited the Navajo Reservation, the Hopis at Walpi and several Zuni villages during the trip. Provenance: Property of Prominent Collector, Birmingham, Michigan

Paper has been adhered to a cardstock backing. Backing is adhered to the matting. Scattered specks of foxing.
