CHINESE BLUE FITZHUGH ARMORIAL PORCELAIN TABLEWARE, C. 1785, 16 PIECES:Including 3 plates with scalloped edges, Dia.9 1/2", 1 plate in octagonal form, W.9 1/4", 1 round serving dish, Dia. 9 1/4", 3 rimmed bowls, Dia.9 3/4", 2 saucers, a gravy boat and under plate, L.7 1/8" - 7 3/4", and a teacup and saucer. All having a blue and white border with painted center armorials. Grouping containing at least three patterns. Attributed as Fitzhugh China, Triple Beehive Nanking, c. 1784-1785. Purchased from Calvert Gallery. From the estate of Barbara K. Wrigley of Grosse Pointe Farms.

Condition

One dish with 6 flea bite chips, 1 plate has a 4 3/4" crack at the well, 1 plate with 3 flea bite chips, 1 bowl with 2 flea bite chips, 1 plate with 15 minor flea bite chips, the round serving dish has 3 flea bite chips, 1 rimmed bowl with 5 flea bite chips and 1 minor chip under the rim, 1 saucer with 7 flea bite chips and loss to the paint at the well, and another saucer with 2 chips and loss to the gilt at the rim, the gravy boat has 1 rim chip as well as a 1" area of chipping to the spout, the underplate is in good condition, the teacup and saucer are in good condition. All pieces exhibit wear to gilt decoration as well as expected wear from age and handling.
