CHINESE EMBROIDERED BLACK SILK SHAWL WITH RED FLOWERS, C. 1920, W 48" (PLUS 16" FRINGE):Hand embroidery, silk on silk. Circa 1920. 48" x 48" plus 16" fringe.
There are multiple 1/4" tears where the fringe is attached to the material. This has been caused by the fringe being slightly pulled, from use, over the years. There is a seam down the center of the shawl and there is a 1/4" tear in this area.
