Chinese Malachite Sculpture, Chinese Warrior On Horseback, H 1' 3'' W 1' 2.5'' | A carved malachite sculpture depicting Chinese mythology. Offers a woman warrior on horseback adjacent to a male warrior on foot. No maker's marks or signatures were observed. Depth 4". Provenance: From a Dearborn, Michigan collector.
When viewed under UV light, one skillful repair to a fracture was observed to the top of male warrior's hat was observed. There are minor chips to the coattails of the male warrior. Natural variation to the malachite observed. Please note all lots show signs of wear commensurate with age and use, and the lack of a statement regarding condition does not imply the lot is in perfect condition or completely free from defects or the effects of aging.
