CHINESE PAINTINGS ON SILK, EARLY 20TH C., TWO, H 36", ROSES AND CHRYSANTHEMUMS:Including a blossoming rose bush with birds perching and flying about, signed and stamped in the lower left corner (see additional photo), measures H.36" x 12 3/8"; together with a blossoming chrysanthemum bush with a grouse type bird at the base, not apparently marked, measures H.36" x 13". Overall measurements for both, H.43" x 19". From the collection of Mrs. G. G. Scranton, international traveler from the late 1900's to the mid twentieth century. Friend and patron of Mrs. Dagny Carter, a notable scholar, influenced this collection.
Condition
There is light foxing noted to the chrysanthemum blossoms. There are a few minor holes and wear noted to each, as viewed in the unopened frame.
