Oil on an engraver's copper panel depicting allegorical representations of the theological virtues of faith, hope, and charity. Representing faith is the standing woman holding a cross, gazing heavenward. Representing hope is a seated woman holding an anchor at her side. The central figure representing charity is a woman holding a small child. Inscribed on the panel verso "Sogetto/I tre Virtue/**oloj**/Fede/ Speeranza/Carita/*****uifsimo di Aureliano/Milani" with remnants of engraving. Presented in a metal-clad frame, H 15", W 11.75". Provenance: Christie's New York, Old Masters Paintings, October 15th, 1992.
