CIVIL WAR ERA SWORD AND HAND-BEADED SCABBARD, MODEL 1840, L 43":An 1840 Civil War-era cavalry sword with a wire-wrapped leather hilt, brass guard and pommel; accompanied by a hand beaded scabbard. Having red, white, blue, and yellow beadwork to the scabbard made by Gloria D., part of the Sage Creek Gallery in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Signed at sword scabbard mouthpiece on wrapped rawhide. The blade measuring 34", overall measuring 43".
