Signed and dated in the lower left. Landscape painting of rugged terrain in the morning light. Mrs. Richardson studied art in New York and Pennsylvania. She later married the Director of the Detroit Institute of Arts in the 1930s. She used many techniques she had learned from the conservationists at the DIA in her own paintings. She has exhibited at numerous galleries and museums across the country from San Francisco to New York. Having a carved giltwood frame, H 25", W 39". Titled, dated and signed on the verso with a notation "Varnished and Waxed 1959". Provenance: Property of Prominent Collector, Birmingham, Michigan

Condition

Some spots of surface residue in the sky. Slight yellowing of the varnish.
