Brass plate on frame is inscribed "Late Summer Sunset Douglas Arthur Teed" on bottom of original carved gilt wood frame. As viewed under UV light in the unopened frame: c. less than 1% overpainting showing for sure, however there is some white smearing (of unknown origin) occurring sporadically in the lower half of the painting with some fluorescence (which may be the result of being rubbed or possibly over cleaned?); signature and date are difficult to read - not all there (letters and numbers are lost); general yellowing of the painting; some craquelure and stretcher bar cracking developing; not lined or patched; original stretchers; period gilt frame with wear.
