EMILE ALBERT GRUPPE (AMERICAN, 1896-1998), OIL ON CANVAS, H 24", W 20", "AFTERNOON, ROCKY NECK":Signed lower right, titled on verso stretcher and Hudson's tag; period or original silver gilt frame. Provenance: Hudson's, Detroit, MI (Hudson's string tag and business card attached to verso).
As viewed under UV light in the unopened frame: UV clean; could use a cleaning; thinly painted in some areas with the white of the canvas showing - possible slight flaking of paint, but maybe not because of this; canvas slightly sagging; frame having some patina wear and cracking; not lined or patched.
