ENGLISH OLD SHEFFIELD PLATE WIRE WORK CAKE BASKET, C. 1800, H 9" (HANDLE), L 11 1/2":Rectangular shape with rounded corners, wire work sides and gadrooned rim, having a swing handle engraved with a crest. No apparent markings. Measures H.3 1/2" (9" to the handle), L.11 1/2" x 9 1/2".
Old solder repairs. Very handsome. The handle's patina is worn to the copper in some areas.
