ENGLISH STERLING COMPILED TEA & COFFEE SET, LATE 19TH-EARLY 20TH C., FIVE PIECES:The sterling silver tea and coffee service includes: 1 teapot, H.5 1/4", 1 open sugar bowl, W.6 3/4", and 1 cream pitcher, H.3 1/4" by James Fenton & Co. of Birmingham, also marked date letter 'X' indicating 1922.; together with a sterling silver coffee pot, H.9 1/4", by an unknown maker of London (monogram has been rubbed), additionally marked with passant lion, leopard head, and date letter 'a' indicating 1896.  Tray is monogrammed with the initial "F' and has a baroque foliate design.  Approximately 40.84 troy ounces, weighable.

Condition

The coffee pot is bent at the base.  Minor surface scratches from use, but in good condition otherwise.  Ad Approximate troy ounce weights are as follows: creamer- 3.05; waste- 6.23; coffee pot- 18.48; teapot- 13.08.
 
The tray is sliver plate. The wooden finial of the teapot has broken off. RB 8-2-17
