ENGLISH VICTORIAN SHEFFIELD PLATE ROAST COVER, H 12 1/2", W 13 3/4", L 19 1/4":Of oval form, having a scrolling foliate handle over a foliate lobed cover with a coat-of-arms to center, over a conforming tray. With a bell mark to underside indicating the manufactures as either Smiths, Sissions & Co (1848-1858) or William & George Sissions (1858-1891). From the Estate of Palmer T. Heenan, Grosse Pointe Park.
With marks, scratches, and scuffs throughout consistent with use and age.
