JOSEF THOMAS ADLER, MARIENBAD, ENGRAVED GLASS 'FIVE CONTINENTS' HUNTING SERVICE COMPOTES, 19TH C., H 6 1/4"-18":Late 19th Century. A set of five partial etched glass compotes; each compote or compote base decorated individually with either Asian, African, or Australian hunting scenes; additionally shown with animals native to each continent, including kangaroos, gorillas, and tigers. A matching etched fern and leaf motif about each standard. Diameter range of compotes: 9"- 11 3/8". Executed by the firm Josef Thomas Adler and signed with a double monogram, one of which is ‘JTA’, the other is unidentified. Made in Czechoslovakia.
A few small surface scratches to the basin of each.
