EUROPEAN ANTIQUE CARVED WOOD HEAD OF A SAINT, H 11 1/2", PROBABLY PORTUGUESE:Carved head of a bald man with a full beard, eyes averted down, hand painted features on a layer of white, probably gesso, measuring H.11 1/2" x 5" x 5 1/2". Possibly early 18th century. Mounted on a contemporary black plinth, H.18" overall. Multiple chips overall (evident in the photos), as well as an old hole at the top of his head, perhaps a knot, and the back of the head is hollowed.
