Plate 59 From Desastres De La Guerra, Etching with burnished aquatint, drypoint and engraving, on heavy wove paper with a J.G.O. watermark and with partial Palmette watermark, from the First Edition (Harris 1b) of 500 copies, published in 1863 by the Real Academia de Nobles Artes de San Fernando, Madrid, printed by the workshop of Laurenciano Potenciano, Madrid, with margins. Catalogue Raisonne: Harris 179. Sheet size: H 8 5/8", W 11 7/8". Matted and framed under glass, H 13.5", W 15.5". Provenance: From a Private Collector, Flint, Michigan

Condition

Hinge mounted in the upper corners. Adhesive residue from a previous mounting in the upper corners. Scattered specks of pale foxing. Mat, time and backboard staining. Pencil notation at the lower left sheet edge of "D 178-1st Ed.".
