This piece depicts a bird's eye view of Randolph Street of downtown Detroit, as it would have appeared in 1933. To the lower center is the Old Wayne County building and to the upper right is Book Tower. Artist's signature, title and date are located to the lower margins in graphite. An embossed seal to the lower left corner reads "JL Hempstead Studios, Chicago." Good; moderate toning to paper, minor rips to edges.
