French Bronze & Marble Allegorical Mantel Clock, Mid-19th C., H 15.5'' W 21'' | Depth of 7". Belgian black marble base with a bronze allegorical figure of a woman holding a painter's pallet with books next to her. Japy Fils movement with an enamel clock face in Roman numerals. Condition
No bell or winding key. There is a small hole next to the woman's foot, possibly there was another stack of books there at one time. Half of the lower marble band in the back of the clock is lost. There is a hole in the lady's left hand that likely once held a brush. Please note all lots show signs of wear commensurate with age and use, and the lack of a statement regarding condition does not imply the lot is in perfect condition or completely free from defects or the effects of aging.
