FRENCH DRESSING MIRROR OIL PAINTING 3 SECTION ENSEMBLE, 19TH C., IMAGE SIGHT FOR THE OIL PAINTING: H 7 1/4", W 9 1/2":Unsigned exterior oil painting of a couple having dinner on a French Empire style table opens to reveal a mirror on the verso and then a 2nd section having a print of 3 ladies again opening to a mirror on its verso with a mirrored tin panel in between the 2 opened verso mirrors; French gilt period frame with Brevete LB latch; outer dimensions of frame: 15 1/2" x 18",
As viewed under UV light in the unopened frame: c. 8-9% spotty overpainting on the first panel; mirrored panel with some losses in its reflective surface; frame slightly cracked.
