FRENCH MARBLE TOP PARQUETRY CABINET, CIRCA 1800 H 42", W 46", D 17":Exceptional marquetry work. Bronze ormolu mounted with female heads at corners, serpentine front, ebony and satinwood with oak secondary wood. Single door opening to three interior shelves. From a prominent Bloomfield Hills collector.
Condition
The marble top has scratches and approx. four small chips to the edge ranging in size from 1/8" to 1/4". On the panel of the front door there are three drip marks, possibly from water. One drip mark is approx. 3" in size and the other two are 1" in size. On the left side, at the bottom center of the base, there is a veneer repair 1 1/2" x 1" in size. At the right side, at the bottom back of the base, there is a veneer repair approx. 4" x 2" in size. There are scratches and scuffs at the bottom base. This wear is commensurate with age and use.
