FRENCH STYLE CARVED FIGURED WALNUT SERPENTINE FRONT ARMOIRE WITH MODIFIED INTERIOR, C. 1940-1960, H 91", W 82", D 24":Satinwood string inlay; bevelled glass glazed center door flanked by 2 side doors; bronze ormolu; scrolling crest rail; the whole raised on French feet; the interior has recently been completely modified with added interior walls, shelves and sliding drawers.
Completely modified interior; side doors do not fit flush; top drawer behind the right door does not fit right; cracking of the burl veneer; slight 'bubbling' or lifting up of the wood at the top; bronze pierced crest ornament is detached and needs to be re-attached (nail hole has been filled in); slight wear.
