Fritz Landry (Swiss, 1842-1927), Neuchatel (Suisse) Bronze Medal, Louis Agassiz, Dia. 3.75'' 419g A bronze medal by Fritz Ulysse Landry depicting Louis Agassiz, a Swiss-born American biologist and geologist who is recognized as a scholar of Earth's natural history. Having Latin text "VIRO INGENIO, LABORE, SCIENTIA PRAESTANTISSIMO (A MAN OF GENIUS, LABOR, AND KNOWLEDGE OF THE HIGHEST DEGREE)" with laurel leaves to the reverse. Total weight: 419 grams. Accompanied with original fitted box, measuring H 1" x W 5" x D 5.25". Provenance: Private Collection, Boston-Edison District, Detroit, MI (40-year resident of the Boston-Edison Ford House)
