G. BATEMAN (BRITISH, LATE 19TH C.), OILS ON CANVAS, PAIR, H 16", W 24", HORSES WITH DOGS:A pair of paintings, one signed in the left and another in the right corner. Both are in carved gilt wood frames. Sotheby's label on verso of the one titled, "White horse with Two Hounds". From the Estate of Daniel Clancy, Voltaire Place, Grosse Pointe Farms.
One has overall craquelure. (Under UV light in the unopened frames: a little edge overpainting in both and also a little overpainting in the brown horse; craquelure in both but the brown horse one is overall; appear not to be lined; slight corner nicks in the two frames.)
