GASTON H. BOUCART (FRENCH 1878-1962), OIL ON CANVAS, H 21", W 26", "MORNING VENICE":Signed lower left; under glass with spacer in a period gilt frame. Provenance: hung in the old Fox Theater, Detroit, MI in the late 1960's to early 1970's before the Fox was renovated. Given to an employee of the Fox at that time.
As viewed under UV light in the unopened frame: UV clean; noticeable craquelure and cracking of the paint with instability; not lined or patched; frame is slightly chipped.
