Having a height of 15" and a width of 12". Pastel drawing of a woman signed and dated 1959 in the lower right. Having a height of 5.5" and a width of 5.25". Framed under glass, H 12.75", W 12". Gene Szafran was an artist, illustrator, and sculptor. He was known for illustrations in magazines including Playboy and Fortune. Szafran studied at the Society of Arts and Crafts.
Oil on canvas has stable cracks in the pigment, most notably on the right side of the composition. Pastel drawing is in good condition. Please note all lots show signs of wear commensurate with age and use, and the lack of a statement regarding condition does not imply the lot is in perfect condition or completely free from defects or the effects of aging.
