Signed 'Geo. Bellows E.S.B.' and titled in pencil (presumably by the artist's wife), numbered 'No 1' (from the edition of 36). A superb impression of the first state of this scarce print. This scene is depicting his stay at the YMCA when he first arrived in New York in 1904, after dropping out of Ohio State at the end of his senior year to pursue a career as an artist.
