GEORGE III STERLING COVERED ENTR-E DISH BY SEBASTIAN & JAMES CRESPELL, LONDON, 1763-64, DIA 9 1/2":A round sterling silver bowl and slightly domed cover with gadrooned rims, centered by a turned wood knob. Hallmarks at the cover and base include a lion passant, crowned leopard, date letter Gothic H (1763-64), and maker's mark "SC [star]/IC" for Septimus/Sebastian and James Crespell (see additional photo). Measures H.3 3/4" to the knob, Dia.9 5/8". Weighs approximately 22.85 troy oz.
