Of Bauhaus design with arts and crafts construction, ebonized accents, and modern geometric lines. The chairs measure H 29" x W 24" x D 26". The table measures H 22" x W 26" x D 24.25". The chairs offer impressive basket woven caned rattan backing and seating, with modern fitted cushions. No maker's marks or branding were observed. With a partial newspaper clipping affixed to underside of the table. Circa 1920. Provenance: Property of a Detroit, MI private collector.
When viewed under natural light, nicks and faint scratches were observed throughout the table and four chairs. The caning shows wear from age and use. Evidence of water damage to the feet of the chairs and tables. The chairs have scattered areas of conservation and associated staining to the wood. | Please note all lots show signs of wear commensurate with age and use, and the lack of a statement regarding condition does not imply the lot is in perfect condition or completely free from defects or the effects of aging.
