As viewed under UV light in the unopened frame:  UV clean except for a very little overpainting in the far LL corner by the lip of the frame; the 'halo' (darker area around the head of the cardinal) may be due to that area being cleaned rather than it having overpainting; stable craquelure; edge of panel wear from the lip of the frame; cracks in the original or period gilt frame.  Rf, 4-5-2017
