HEPPLEWHITE MAHOGANY INLAID CARD TABLE, MASSACHUSETTS, C. 1780-1800, H 28 1/4", W 35", L 17" (CLOSED):Serpentine sides and bow front, the center with a Grecian urn inlaid panel, the stiles above the legs also inlaid with urns, the solid crotch figured top of conforming shape has checkered inlaid borders, raised on square tapered legs, one of which swings out to support the hinged leaf. Attributed to William Lloyd of Springfield. Provenance: Israel Sack, Inc., New York, NY, purchased in November 1984.
Condition
The frame is veneered with figured satinwood or birch.
