A Pewabic Pottery vase by Ira and Ella Peters. Having a white clay body and iridescent glaze boasting purple and sea foam green tones with observable oxidation, pitting and reduction. Incised "IRA" and "ELLA", with an illegible date to the underside. Provenance: Collection of Bob Schweizer, 4th generation owner of legendary Detroit based Schweizer's restaurant. Founded in 1862, Mr. Schweizer was a personal friend of Ira and Ella Peters as well as a personal friend of Pewabic Pottery founder, Mary Chase Stratton. Property of Robert Schweizer, Ann Arbor.
