JACOB PETIT, FRENCH PAINTED CORNUCOPIAS, MID 19TH CENTURY, H 10 1/4" W 8":Painted blue bases and acanthus leaf to cornucopia, painted with floral sprays, with gilt details throughout. Marked to undersides in blue underglaze, and initials "JP" at undersides.
One urn has a broken leaf, that has been painted over, at the rim and one large acanthus leaf, in front of the vase, has been restored. This same urn has 2 chips at the underside of the base approximately 1" and 1/2" , and there is also a 1/4" chip to one small acanthus leaf at the center of the vase body. The other urn, has a half-inch chip to rim, a 1/4" chip to one acanthus leaf at the center of the vase body and a 1/2" chip at the underside of the base. Minor gilt paint loss throughout.
