The white metal dial offers incised Roman numerals, brass decoration, and enameled definition. The ebonized wood frame is embellished with gilt trim and ornately stipple engraved brass plate. The clockwork mechanisms are signed and produced by Jacobus Mayr, Augustanus on the backside. Circa 1680. The clock features a bold architectural structure embellished with gilded motifs—most notably the acanthus foliage crowning the top facade—which accentuate the black polished surfaces. Intricately turned columns and tasteful gold striping enhance its striking appearance. The face itself boasts a silver-toned chapter ring adorned with Roman numerals and is set within an engraved brass center flaunting precise metalwork typical of late Renaissance horology. The layout suggests it not only told time but also likely had additional mechanisms possibly related to chiming or calendar functions.
