JAMES ANTHONY WILLS, USA 1912 OIL ON MASONITE 37" X 29" PORTRAIT:Oil portrait on masonite depicting lady in green outfit. Signed lower right: J. Anthony Wills. Wills was famous for his portraits of cabinet members including George C. Marshall, Secretary of Defense, C. E. Wilson, Secretary of Defense, and Henry Kissinger, Secretary of State. His greater works are his long list of Presidential Portraits. He has painted Harry Truman, Dwight D. Eisenhower, and Richard Nixon. Along the stairway to the East Room hang the portraits of 20th century Presidents.
Condition
Good condition. Image size: 37" x 29". Framed size: 46" x 39". As viewed under UV light in the unopened frame: UV clean; frame slightly chipped and has a stained liner.
