JEAN CHARLOT (AMERICAN/FRENCH, 1898-1979), HAND DONE COLOR LITHOGRAPH, 1936, IMAGE: H 16", W 23", "DANCE OF THE MALINCHES":After the artist's 1930 oil; #112/240; pencil signed; framed. Also called "Large Malinches (Toy Fiesta)". Postcard authentication signed by Jean Charlot from September 1970 and a page from an exhibition or sale catalogue depicting the painting that this was done after are in the customer file and are included in the sale of the work. Additional provenance: ex estate of William Noble, Ferndale, MI (who purchased it from the artist), then passed down in the family. Mr. Noble was the lead feature writer for the Detroit News Sunday magazine and an avid collector of Mexican art since the 1930's.
