JEAN DUFY (FRENCH, 1888-1964), OIL ON WOOD PANEL, H 30", W 56", "LE PORT DU HAVRE": Signed lower right; gilt frame is earlier.  Provenance:  Sotheby's Sale Number 3796B, lot number 313, October 23, 1975 and purchased by Norman Ember and then inherited by the son.  Christie's label SV428 on the back of the frame, also an Andre Chenue, Paris packing and shipping label on the back of the frame.  When Norman Ember died, the picture was taken with all other items in Norman Ember's apartment by Christie's.  At the time of Norman Ember's death, it was elected that the picture would be kept within the family so it was removed from Christies' warehouse.  With frame: 40" x 66"

As viewed in the unopened frame:  UV clean; artwork appears to be in good condition; frame only slightly chipped and cracked.
