Impressed foundry mark of Fabricion Paris. Bronze, mid-brown patina, depicting a young Mozart tuning his violin as he stands on a scroll of sheet music, raised on what is likely the original marble plinth. Signed 'L.Gregoire' to base. Gregoire trained under Jean Jules Salmson at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts. Work was first exhibited at the Paris Salon in 1867. Provenance: The estate of Gloria Anton, Grosse Pointe Shores, MI.
